What is your fondest memory of your time spent in the college?

FACS changed my life. I choose my major just before my junior year. For the first time in my college career, I felt like I had the support system (faculty and students) that propelled me to be successful. The nurturing environment of FACS is rare to find in a large university setting.

How did FACS prepare you for your career?

These days, I run an advertising agency. A little weird for a Housing major. But, I can attribute my business acumen to many of the principles I learned in Consumer Economics classes. Plus, the investment side of the Housing degree got me thinking about the big picture in terms of long term decision making in my business.

Why do you give to FACS/UGA?

I want to stay connected to the college. I owe it to the college. Now, I’d like to help other students like me find their passion.

What is the best advice you can share with current FACS students?

Don’t be a stranger. Get involved. The faculty wants to help you be successful. And they can, trust me.

Explore a variety of subjects within the college. For me, a blend of Consumer Journalism, Consumer Economics and Housing was the perfect recipe for me to become an entrepreneur in a non-traditional category.
