What is your fondest memory of your time spent in the college?
My fondest memory is from freshman year at the FDSA annual runway show. It was the first time I was showing off my own designs publicly and seeing all the amazing talent at UGA. I knew then that I had chosen the right college at the right university!
How did FACS prepare you for your career?
FACS brought me out of my comfort zone and pushed me to become the best person I could be both professionally and personally. My FACS experience made me more well-rounded and open to tackle any challenges. FACS also made me a better problem solver as well as opened my eyes to new ways of looking at things. These traits I gained from FACS have stuck with me through my career thanks to the hardworking professors and administrators.
Why do you give to FACS/UGA?
I give to not only show my appreciation to the college but also because I hope that future students will have the same incredible opportunities that I had as a FACS student at UGA. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the people who gave before me to ensure that FACS/UGA remains (and advances as) the amazing community that it is.
What is the best advice you can share with current FACS students?
First, trust your instincts and speak up! If you feel as if something can be done differently, more efficiently, or better, never be afraid to say so. You will be surprised where your instincts will take you. Secondly, never turn down an opportunity. Even if it is not your ideal position, internship, project, etc., it can lead to other amazing opportunities as well as give you a chance to network with some of the best people in your industry. People will see and value your openness to new opportunities and breadth in experience and knowledge.
