What advice would you give to a student thinking about changing their major to FACS?

DO IT!!!!  Being a part of FACS is one of the best decisions I have made in college.  There is an obvious student focus that my friends do not have in some of the other colleges.  Knowing the professors and advisors and having them know your name goes a long way when you need help or want to ask a question.  You’re not one in a lecture of 300.  The FACS faculty cares about your comfort level and how to help you succeed.

Best advice for a 1st year student? Transfer students?

Do not spread yourself too thin in activities! It is different than high school, now you are doing what is best for you not what looks best for college.  Find two or three things that really touch you and matter to you and stick with them!

What are your Future plans?

I plan on graduating in December (a semester early) and then I will go to graduate school for Marriage and Family Therapy.  I am not sure where exactly I will go yet but I’m sure I’ll end up in a great program!
