The Housing and Demographic Research Center was established in 1996 and continues to be a valued resource for community-based housing research, student engagement, and capacity-building technical assistance. The Center helps communities identify and address housing needs and highlights emerging housing issues in the state of Georgia. We accomplish this by facilitating change through a collaboration with communities, faculty members and students within the University of Georgia, and a Board of Advisors comprised of statewide representatives from all aspects of the housing industry.
GICH helps your community meets its housing needs.
The Center conducts and fosters research on emerging and policy-relevant housing and neighborhood revitalization research.
Through a collaboration with UGA’s Housing Management & Policy program and the Georgia Initiative for Community Housing, we offer project-based service-learning designed to help communities address their housing needs while providing undergraduate students with supervised, hands on experience that will enhance their housing and community development knowledge, research and technical skills.
