Undergraduate Internship in Couple and Family Therapy

The Couple and Family Therapy Internship is a program designed for UGA undergraduate students (ideally juniors and seniors) seeking intensive preparation for graduate training in couple and family therapy and related mental health fields. Interns gain foundational knowledge in theories, principles, and clinical skills while developing personally and professionally alongside graduate student therapists and experienced faculty.

What You'll Experience:

Interns fulfill a comprehensive range of responsibilities throughout the semester, including:

  • Clinical observation and learning - Observe therapy sessions through video recordings, witness the supervision process, and contribute to case discussions with faculty and therapists-in-training
  • Skill development - Engage with readings, videos, and assignments focused on self-growth, self-care, and the practice of couple and family therapy
  • Collaborative learning - Work as a cohort to enhance understanding and application of therapeutic concepts through regular class meetings
  • Professional networking - Meet with professionals in the field to learn about career pathways and real-world applications of couple and family therapy
