Come celebrate fellow FACS alumni and friends at our 40th Annual Alumni Awards Luncheon on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at the UGA Hotel and Conference Center. Registration opens on Jan. 2, 2017 at www.fcs.uga.edu
When you support the FACS Alumni Association, you invest in scholarships, mentoring initiatives and networking events. The FACS Alumni 4-H Scholarship and FACS Alumni Family, Career and Community Leaders of America Scholarship are given annually to high school students who have excelled in local, state and national leadership with their respective organizations. For the past eight years, our primary alumni fundraiser has been a local 5K race, the Chilly Dawg, which has raised nearly $30,000.
This year, we are expanding your opportunities to reach the larger FACS community - over 20K alumni, faculty, staff, students, parents, and FACS supporters at multiple events throughout the year.
The annual Chilly Dawg 5K will be held Saturday, Jan. 21, at Sandy Creek Park in Athens!
Early bird registration is now open and includes an early registration discount!

This year’s event, which will be held Feb. 17-18, will feature keynote speaker Roy Blount Jr., author, humorist and panelist on NPR's Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me. The Alumni Seminar also will feature our own Dr. Kim Skobba presenting on the tiny house movement. Register to attend the annual two-day educational gathering at alumni.uga.edu/seminar.
Led by the Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (SAFCS) and supported by FACS and Embark UGA, the “hygiene closet” provides essential need items to students that may not have the resources to purchase them on their own.
In recognition of this effort, the Athens Area Chapter of the UGA Alumni Association held their annual holiday celebration asking attendees to bring in donations. From all of us at FACS we’d like to thank the members of the Athens Area alumni chapter for their generous donations to this cause!
If you are interested in donating items to the hygiene closet or wish to make a monetary gift please contact the FACS Student Success and Advising Center or visit the hygiene closet webpage.
