A reminder to all faculty, staff and supervisors of the importance of planning for the annual performance reviews of all faculty and staff as well as your own. The college Policies and Procedures web site contains all documents.

The Annual Performance Review of Employees in FACS guidelines are posted there. Deadline for faculty for completion of Elements any additional information as requested by your department heads is January 15.  Deadline for completion of all classified staff performance reviews is March 31.

The UGA Elements system will be used for the submission of all activity reports.  Faculty members must ensure that all activities for 2017 are incorporated into their Elements profile so that an accurate activity report can be generated. The timeline for activity report submission and review is January 15, 2017. Because the 15th falls on a Sunday, you have until the next working day to complete submission.

The UGA Elements system http://www.elements.uga.eduwas introduced to the faculty fall 2015 and extensive revisions and improvements have been made over the past year.  Please continue to address your questions to the Elements Liaison, Assoc. Dean Patti Hunt-Hurst and/or to your Dept. Heads.

During periods of inclement winter weather, UGA follows a set procedure for announcing operational changes. By policy, the university makes one of three announcements regarding university operations due to inclement weather. The announcement will be: UGA is open and operating on a regular schedule; UGA is closed; or UGA will delay opening until a specific time. An all-campus email through ArchNews is the primary means to distribute such announcements. The announcement also is posted to the UGA home page ( Announcements will also be posted to Twitter (@universityofga and @UGAEVENTS) and Facebook ( and Up-to-date information is provided to Athens radio stations.  Atlanta TV and radio stations that have requested to receive UGA weather announcements also are notified. Attempts are made to post announcements and notify media by 6:30 a.m. for the start of the class day.

Have a happy and safe holiday season!
