Dean’s Update 6/20/17

June 22nd, 2017 Contact: Linda Fox  |  706-542-4879  | More about Linda

We thank the 2016 - 2017 FACS staff council for their service the past year.  The members included Laura Kelley – Chair, HDFS, Justin Miller-FHCE, Judy Owens-FDN, Eliza Ayton-TMI, and Kassie Suggs-Administrative Unit. Congratulations to Kassie Suggs, in her role as the 2017-2018 FACS Staff Council chair.  Kassie is the administrative associate for Student Success and Advising Center.  Other 2017 - 2018 FACS Staff Council committee members include Justin Miller –FHCE, Erin Lovett-FDN, Eliza Ayton – TMI,  and Anjanette Russell – HDFS.

The Staff Council Bylaws outline the responsibilities and functions, including the process for allocating the funds for the Susan Hale Brooks Staff Development Award funds, recommending to the dean policies and procedures related to staff and developing and maintaining a college-wide communications network to transmit information to all staff of business conducted by the Council.

Human Resources at UGA and I remind you as supervisors and as employees to please share information with appropriate members of your organization and for yourself. This will help pave the way for a smooth transition for the upcoming change in how our faculty and staff enroll in their benefits that will occur on Monday, June 26.

The robust, new OneUSG Connect – Benefits system will be used by all USG institutions to view benefits, enroll, request changes due to life events, find in-network providers, and more.

For UGA, this new system replaces the MyBenefits@UGA system for benefits enrollment.  Along with the new website, there will be a OneUSG Connect - Benefits Call Center dedicated to benefits questions for all USG employees.

For this reason, the and email accounts will no longer be monitored or responded to for benefits-related questions and issues. Starting June 26, faculty and staff who send a message to these email addresses will receive an automatically-generated reply referring them to the new OneUSG Connect - Benefits website and call center.

A campus-wide communication will be distributed to all faculty and staff on June 26, outlining these changes. Please feel free to share this link to a brief slide show about this transition and be prepared to respond to questions from your team members.

Congratulations to the 2017-2018 Faculty Ambassadors! Faculty Ambassadors positively promote the College to prospective students and encourage current students to engage in FACS activities throughout the academic year.
