7. Bulldog Basics - Volunteers Needed

Do you have experience or an interest in marketing? Do you enjoy helping others, especially your fellow students? If so, we are looking for individuals to volunteer with Bulldog Basics! Bulldog Basics is a student-run initiative to provide students in need with hygiene and personal care items. We currently run out of the first and third floor unisex bathrooms of Dawson Hall.

Our marketing volunteer will be involved with promoting Bulldog Basics via social media and other pathways to UGA and the Athens community as a whole. If marketing isn’t your thing, we have plenty of other opportunities to volunteer and the time commitment would be less than an hour a week.

Please email bulldogbasics@uga.edu if interested.

8. Job Opportunity - Georgia College Advising Corps

Are you graduating in May? Looking for a job where you can help others and make a real impact? Consider working as an adviser with the Georgia College Advising Corps (GCAC). GCAC is a UGA outreach program that places outstanding UGA graduates in high schools to work alongside counselors to increase the number of low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students who enter college.  Advisers serve for up to two years, making this an ideal service “gap year” job to build your skills and knowledge before applying to graduate school.

We will be placing advisers in Athens, Atlanta, Conyers, and Social Circle for the 2018-19 school year.  The priority application deadline is January 31st.
