Opportunities to Join the Career Center Team for 2018-19!

Peer Career Advising & Special Projects (Career Development Internship) – *Higher Level Commitment*

The Career Development Intern (CDI) program provides paid internship experience right here on campus for undergraduate students at the University of Georgia. These interns assist the Career Center in serving UGA students, alumni and employers. The “career development” aspect of this internship is two-fold—on one hand, you learn how to help other students with their own career needs through assisting with drop-in hours and office-wide events; on the other, you personally gain career development with the help of Career Center staff through weekly team meetings, one-on-one meetings with your supervisor, and staff mentor matching. You’ll also be assigned projects that fit your interest areas and areas where you’d like to develop skills (as much as they are available, of course). Find more details and the application here.

Marketing (Brand Ambassador Program) – *Lower Level Commitment*

As a Career Center Brand Ambassador, you will gain valuable marketing skills while assisting the Career Center in promoting their signature events utilizing your personal social media accounts and campus network. You will also have the opportunity to participate in Career Center brand development, and assist with creating and implementing innovative marketing strategies. Brand Ambassadors will work on a team under the supervision of two Career Consultants in the UGA Career Center. Find more details and the application here.

5. Financial Planning Association of Georgia Spring Career Fair

The Financial Planning Association is having an amazing networking opportunity for full-time positions and internships in the Atlanta area! The FPA of GA Annual Spring Career Fair is just around the corner! The Career Fair will be held on March 23rd, from 12:00–4:00 p.m. This is a great opportunity to show initiative and stand out to employers. Please dress in business casual/professional. Also, bring resumes, business cards, and/or portfolios. For more information and instructions on how to register, please click here.

6. FACS Events Pick of the Week!

No classes will be held March 12th – March 16th. Have a safe and relaxing break!

7. Bulldog Basics - Volunteers Needed

Do you have experience or an interest in marketing? Do you enjoy helping others, especially your fellow students? If so, we are looking for individuals to volunteer with Bulldog Basics! Bulldog Basics is a student-run initiative to provide students in need with hygiene and personal care items. We currently run out of the first and third floor unisex bathrooms of Dawson Hall.

Our marketing volunteer will be involved with promoting Bulldog Basics via social media and other pathways to UGA and the Athens community as a whole. If marketing isn’t your thing, we have plenty of other opportunities to volunteer and the time commitment would be less than an hour a week.

Please email bulldogbasics@uga.edu if interested.

8. Pre-Health Advising Office Survey – Your Feedback is Valuable!

Have you interviewed with a health professional school this application cycle?

The Pre-Health Advising Office is developing a series of mock interviews, and we would like feedback from students on the most common interview styles encountered as well as questions asked.  If you have interviewed during the 2017-2018 application cycle for a health professional school (med, dent, opt, PA, PT, OT, Nursing, etc.), please take the time to fill out our survey.

9. Prepared Dawgs Ambassador Program – Applications Open

The Office of Emergency Preparedness (OEP) is looking for motivated students to join the Prepared Dawgs Ambassador Program.  Ambassadors will act as liaisons to the student body and work to promote a safe and prepared campus environment.  Applications are now available and will close on March 31st. For more information about the Prepared Dawgs Ambassador Program, please click the above graphic. This information is also available on the Office of Emergency Preparedness website.
