The International Photo and Video Contest is an Office of International Education tradition that serves to recognize our students’ worldly adventures and supports our campus-wide celebration of International Education Week each November.
The International Photo and Video Contest is open to all UGA students, including international students, those currently studying abroad or who have recently studied, traveled, or worked abroad. Prizes are awarded to the top photos in each category, and the winners are put on display year-round in the main lobby of the International Education building.
The entry form is open and the last day to submit photos is Monday, October 31, at 11:59 p.m. More information, including contest rules and the link to the submission form, is available here.
Winners will be announced during International Education Week on Friday, November 18, at the International Coffee Hour in Memorial Hall Ballroom (11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.). This event will include prizes, food, and the presentation of the People’s Choice photo award. We welcome all students to join us in this event!

Young Harris United Methodist Church on Prince Avenue in West Athens is seeking part-time Nursery Caregivers. Nursery Caregivers will serve as part of a team prioritizing the care and well-being of our children under the age of 6 during Sunday morning church (from 8:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.) with opportunities to work on special evening engagements. We are looking for this person to have a deep sense of calling to Christian ministry, to children and their families, with interest to instruct and guide those in their care. This person also needs to be passionate about the welfare of the children present while adhering to our congregation policies for safe sanctuary of everyone present. Camp Ozark is America's largest single-site Christian sports and adventure camp for kids ages 7-17 located in the Ouachita National Forest in Arkansas. We hire over 700 college-aged students from over 40 universities to work with over 6,000 kids each summer. CURO, UGA’s Center for Undergraduate Research Opportunities, offers all undergraduate students the opportunity to engage in faculty-mentored research, regardless of discipline, major, or GPA – even students in their first year.
This fall, ten UGA students, six from FACS, have been paired with FACS faculty mentors as part of the CURO Research Assistantship program. Students in this program receive a stipend for semester-long research and will present their findings at the spring symposium.
If you are interested in participating in this program next semester, the Spring 2017 application deadline is Tuesday, November 1, 2016. Please see FACS Opportunities for Undergraduate Research, where new research projects with faculty are going up daily, for more information.

Georgia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (GAFCS) is offering an undergraduate scholarship of $500. Any GAFCS student unit member who is currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in family and consumer sciences or related specialized programs, at a Georgia institution, for the academic year and making satisfactory progress may apply. The scholarship is awarded at the GAFCS Annual Conference.

AlcoRehab works towards raising awareness of alcohol abuse and addiction issues and hoping to encourage as many people as possible to realize the potential consequences of their drinking habits.
They offer $6,000 in scholarships each year to three students. Scholarship recipients are selected through an essay contest. Essays are judged based on their originality and content. There are no costs associated with submitting an application for this scholarship.
