Watkins wins early career award for contributions to financial planning
Faculty member Kimberly Watkins, an assistant professor in the department of financial planning, housing and consumer economics, received the Richard L.D. Morse Early Career Award from the American Council on Consumer Interests for her contributions to the field of financial planning.
The award honors early-career researchers who demonstrate excellence in research, education and/or policy, and whose service has meaningfully advanced consumer interests through contributions to ACCI as a professional organization, collaborations with colleagues and allied groups and the broader advancement of consumer studies as a field of research and practice.
Watkins was recognized at the ACCI Annual Conference in Long Beach, California earlier this month.
"I have the great fortune of collaborating with brilliant colleagues on research focused on the financial well-being of marginalized communities," Watkins said. "Being recognized with the Early Career Award for this work is a humbling honor."
