I am currently researching the effects of a Vitamin E enriched diet on cognitive function, specifically in the cases of Alzheimer’s and dementia. Vitamin E consists of two subgroups, tocopherols and tocotrienols. Tocopherols have been widely researched and have shown positive results as an antioxidant. Tocotrienols have a less intensive research background and will be the focus of my upcoming study. Novel Object Recognition tests will be used to measure cognitive functioning in an animal study along with tissue analysis.  

Outside of the lab, I am a member of the University of Georgia’s Division I equestrian team where I serve as a team captain.
