Job Description

I am the Program Coordinator for the Healthy Marriage and Relationship Education (HMRE) Project in Cluster 3. While I am based in the UGA Extension Newton county office, I also serve Rockdale, Morgan, and Greene counties.

My professional experiences include teaching high school science in Charlotte, NC and providing mental health and social support services to youth and families in the Athens, GA area. During my social work graduate studies at UGA, I interned at the Newton County Department of Family and Children's Services (DFCS). At DFCS, I gained experience in investigating child abuse and neglect, providing case management and resource referral to distressed families, and collaborating with the judicial system and community agencies. Additionally, I was afforded the opportunity to be a school social work intern at Rockdale County Public Schools. I managed a caseload of elemenary, middle, and high school students and intervened in crisis response, truancy, child abuse, academic challenges, and financial hardship.

As Program Coordinator, I will faciliate partnerships with local agencies, coordinate and monitor HMRE services in the community, and  supervise local programming staff. I look forward to seeing the success of this awesome campus-community endeavor!
