Bulldog Basics, formally known as the Hygiene Closet, is a collaborative effort led by the Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (SAFCS) and supported by the College of Family and Consumer Sciences (FACS) and Embark UGA. Embark, a UGA resource for students who have experienced foster care or homelessness, indicated the need for a hygiene closet during a meeting in Fall 2015. FACS and SAFCS eagerly agreed to take on the project. The Hygiene Closet officially opened in March 2016. A variety of personal hygiene items are stocked for students to access as needed. Bulldog Basics is funded by a UGA Sustainability Grant, awarded Fall 2016, and a UGA Parents Leadership Council Grant, awarded Spring 2017.

Bulldog Basics is discreetly located in accessible unisex restrooms on the first and third floors of Dawson Hall, across from the elevator. In Fall 2017, an additional location was added to the on-campus Aspire Clinic. We're planning to expand to other campus locations Spring 2018.
