Why so many jobs?
Because we're in a big and growing market.
According to the U.S. Census, the majority of the nation's individual wealth is held in residential property, not stocks, bonds, or bank accounts.
In 2017, Atlanta's apartment industry made $15 billion and created 157,800 jobs. Across the U.S. the apartment industry made $1.3 trillion. In Georgia or beyond, you'll have a job.
The Department of Labor estimates 11,000 new property management jobs every year with an 8% annual growth for the next 10 years. Expanding markets mean job security, and are especially rewarding to effort and ambition.
According to Salary.com, the average hourly wage for a Property Manager in the United States is $49 as of October 29, 2021, but the range typically falls between $43 and $57.
Why do people hate their job?
Because they do the same stuff every day.
This is not that kind of job.
Imagine for a second...
Let's start your day. The weather's nice, so you'll first go outside and check on upkeep. Next you'll sit inside and research marketing strategies. At 11am you'll plan a new gym with your tenants. Next you'll oversee contractors to fix staircases. As your day winds down, you'd prefer to be in the office, evaluating finances. Tomorrow you'll work with a landscape architect to build a garden.
Property managers have interesting work that rewards creative thinking.
They usually live on the property they manage for free.

What are the classes like?
We connect with industry
Whether building a tiny house, analyzing neighborhood conditions in a nearby city, or touring properties in Atlanta, we get our students into the real world.
Atlanta is the headquarters for many of the nation's most prestigious property management firms. Thanks to our connections, our students visit work sites and often get job offers before graduating.
Why do these firms respect our program? Because they built it. RPM at UGA is funded by industry as a place to recruit the top applicants.
