The UGA Career Center is a valuable resource available to you throughout your time here as a student, as you prepare for graduation and even as an alum. Additionally, we have a Career Consultant who specializes in FACS majors and related careers.

Meet Your Consultant

My name is Brittany Smith, and I am proud to serve as your Career Consultant through the UGA Career Center.

I would like to partner with you to create a custom career-ready plan for your four years at UGA.

My job is to help you:

  • explore your major and career interests
  • develop a strong resume
  • utilize networking to find and land hands-on experience through part-time jobs/internships/volunteer and campus involvement/undergraduate research
  • connect with events that will further your career development
  • discuss graduate school options and applications
  • secure a full time job
  • and much more!

You can meet with Brittany in several ways:

  • one-on-one during a scheduled appointment in the Career Center [you can schedule this by calling the Career Center front desk at 706-542-3375]
  • during my on-site satellite hours in FACS (Dawson Hall) from 10:30-12:30 on Tuesdays [no appointment needed]
  • or during open walk-in hours in the Career Center from 12-2 on Fridays [no appointment needed]

The UGA Career Center is happy to announce that our online job, internship, and campus interview system is now powered by Handshake. This system offers exciting ways for UGA students and alumni to connect with employers and opportunities including personalized job and internship recommendations based on your unique profile.

Arch Ready Professionalism Certificate: FACS Edition

The Arch Ready Professionalism Certificate is a series of programs offered by the UGA Career Center to provide students with career development and job search training.  

Requirements:

1. Attend 5 or more eligible events in the Spring 2017 semester.  All programs must be attended within one semester. 

2. Scan in with either your Student ID card or MyID at each event you attend. You will also need to sign out before leaving the event. 

3. Complete a brief assessment following each presentation you attend.  A survey link will be emailed to you following each program. 

4. After attending 5 or more events, complete a final Arch Ready survey by April 14th at: http://studentvoice.com/uga/archreadyfinalsurveyspring2017

5. Pick up your certificate and lapel pin at the Career Center.

Students who complete the program will receive:

  • Formal printed certificate
  • Option to participate in a resume book exclusively for certificate recipients
  • Lapel pin to wear for interviewing, career fairs, and graduation.
