The department of textiles, merchandising and interiors hosted the inaugural “NYC to ATH Fashion DIY Event” as part of the FACS Week celebrations Oct. 10-11.

Fashion and interiors experts Jana Platina-Phipps and Bill Curtin and Kevin Tague of BPD Washhouse visited UGA to host demonstrations.

Students participated in a series of seminars and workshops related to fashion, interiors, embellishment, trends, denim finishing, fabric dyeing processes and career experience.

These events provided a great opportunity for students to network with industry professionals and  experience first-hand how some of the artisanal aspects of the industry are still being used today.
