The University of Georgia will host commencement for undergraduates on Friday, May 10, 2019 at 7:30 p.m. in Sanford Stadium. The graduate ceremony will be in Stegeman Coliseum. We encourage you to participate in the campus commencement activities. For more information and questions regarding UGA commencement ceremonies, visit commencement.uga.edu.
Clear Bag Policy: The new clear bag policy that has been implemented for UGA athletic events is also in effect for all students and guests who will be attending UGA Commencement. Please follow the guidelines in the Permitted/Prohibited Items section.
A more personal ceremony in which graduates of the College of Family and Consumer Sciences will be recognized on stage, will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Classic Center located in downtown Athens. We hope that you will give us the opportunity to recognize you at this time. Family members are invited to attend. The event is free, but registration is required.
In addition to registering for the UGA undergraduate ceremony, a separate registration is required for student participation in the FACS Convocation. Registration opens Feb. 1, 2019 and closes March 22nd. If you do not register by March 22nd your name will not be in the program.
FERPA - If you have a FERPA restriction your name will not appear in the program; FERPA restrictions can be removed by you through the registrar's website if you want your name in the program.

Appropriate academic regalia must be worn to participate in FACS Convocation and UGA commencement. Caps, gowns and hoods may be purchased at the UGA Bookstore. Contact the University of Georgia Bookstore at 706-542-3171 or via email for purchasing information. Candidates should wear their tassels over the right eye until the degree is awarded and over the left eye afterwards.
The FACS convocation is expected to last approximately one and a half hours. Please arrive to the Classic Center at 10:00 a.m. and check in. FACS representatives will be located near easels with each department's name. You will obtain an introduction card and line up with the other graduation candidates behind the easel for your department.
Parking is available at the Classic Center parking deck.
Diplomas will be mailed from the UGA Registrar's Office approximately 6 weeks after commencement.
