The UGA Career Center is a valuable resource available to you throughout your time here as a student, as you prepare for graduation and even as an alum. Additionally, we have a Career Consultant who specializes in FACS majors and related careers.

Meet Your Consultant

My name is Evan Skloot, and I am proud to serve as your Career Consultant through the UGA Career Center.

I would like to partner with you to create a custom career-ready plan for your four years at UGA.

My job is to help you:

  • explore your major and career interests
  • develop a strong resume
  • utilize networking to find and land hands-on experience through part-time jobs/internships/volunteer and campus involvement/undergraduate research
  • connect with events that will further your career development
  • discuss graduate school options and applications
  • secure a full time job
  • and much more!

The best way to ensure you are ready for life beyond the Arch is to meet with me early and often!

Meet with Evan

You can meet with Evan in one of the following ways: 

  • one-on-one in-person or via phone during a scheduled appointment in the Career Center [you can schedule this through your Handshake account under the "Career Center" drop-down menu, or by calling the Career Center front desk at 706-542-3375]
  • in Dawson Hall's main lobby for drop-in hours (10-15 minute quick questions) on Thursdays from 10:30 AM - 12:30 PM (*while classes are in session)
  • in the Career Center (Clark Howell Hall, 2nd Floor) for drop-in hours on Mondays from 12-2 PM (*while classes are in session). Although I am there on Mondays, you can attend drop-in hours any day 12-2 and meet with a Career Consultant.

Arch Ready Professionalism Certificate

The Arch Ready Professionalism Certificate is a series of programs offered by the UGA Career Center to provide students with career development and job search training. 


  1. Attend 5 or more eligible Career Center events. All programs must be attended within one semester. 
  2. Scan in with your UGA Card at each event you attend. At the end of the presentation, you will be given a special code to complete a quick form to confirm your participation and to receive credit for attending. You cannot complete a form on behalf of a friend.
  3. Complete a brief assessment following each presentation you attend.  A survey link will be emailed to you following each program. 
  4. After attending 5 or more events, complete a final Arch Ready survey 
  5. Pick up your certificate and lapel pin at the Career Center.

Students who complete the program will receive:

  • Formal printed certificate
  • Lapel pin to wear for interviewing, career fairs, and graduation
  • The opportunity to add the certificate to their resume
