Accreditation

The quality of your education and preparation for your career is assured through review by top scholars and professionals. The endorsement they provide, called “accreditation,” enhances the value of your UGA education.

Meeting the Highest Standards

The College as a whole meets the highest standards as evidenced by the American Association of Family and Consumer Sciences. Accreditation, defined by the AAFCS Council for Accreditation (CFA), is a system for reviewing a family and consumer sciences (FCS) units to meet or exceed stated criteria of educational quality. To maintain accreditation, a college or unit of family and consumer sciences must undergo a rigorous internal review at intervals of three, five, and seven years. Accreditation is granted for a maximum of 10 years. Our next AAFCS accreditation review and site visit will be in 2019.
