Last year, FACS established a DEI committee to strengthen our community. Over the next year, FACS will develop a diversity, equity, and inclusion strategic plan. Students are a vital part of our community and we’re looking for 1-2 more students to join us. The information below outlines the committee’s work. Committee member responsibilities include:

  • 1 academic year commitment
  • Participate in brainstorming and pre-planning sessions
  • Attend large committee meetings every 4-6 weeks or as needed
  • Work in subcommittees that align with UGA priorities and goals. Most work and meetings will occur in subcommittees in between large committee meetings.

If you have any questions, contact the Committee Chair, Dr. Cara Simmons, at caraj@uga.edu by August 27th.

5. FACS Pick of the Week

International Coffee Hour is the longest-standing program within the Department of International Student Life and is an opportunity for people to come together, to share coffee and good food, and to connect with student organizations and campus partners.

International Coffee Hour will take place in the Memorial Hall Ballroom each Friday of the semester from 11:30 a.m. – 1:00 p.m.

We hope you will join us! Questions? Email isl@uga.edu
