Searching for ways to get involved in the College of Family and Consumer Sciences?

The Student Leadership Advisory Council is comprised of undergraduate and graduate student leaders representing several FACS student organizations. The council seeks to increase communication between students and college leadership as well as encourage student engagement within the college.

On Jan. 15, the SLAC and the FACS Student Success and Advising Center sponsored a student organization fair featuring 10 student organizations from within the college.

Among the groups represented were the FACS Ambassadors, Student Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (SAFCS), Housing Organization for Undergraduate Student Enhancement (H.O.U.S.E.), Student Financial Planning Association and more.

Students gained knowledge surrounding different opportunities and resources, as well as how to join a club or attend meetings.

“It was rewarding to see the success of the event,” said Student Merchandising Association president Nicole Crawford, who helped plan the fair. “I loved getting to meet new transfer students and students who have been interested in us from afar. It was also great to hear about what other organizations have going on this semester.”
