Research
Angelli's research examines how online communities build belonging through shared language. As an undergraduate, Angelli analyzed a corpus of image-and-text posts from incel spaces, studying which linguistic features drove engagement and how this content created in-group identity within the manosphere. Grounded in feminist theory, this work explored how misogyny is normalized through everyday discourse and how unmet relational needs can be organized around grievance rather than connection. As a graduate student in Couple and Family Therapy, Angelli now bring a systemic lens to these questions, asking how digital communities shape beliefs about gender, intimacy, and worth, and how clinicians can respond with cultural awareness and care.
Job Description
Angelli is a First Year Graduate student of the M.S Couple and Family Therapy Program. Additionally, she works as a Teaching Assistant for the Human Development and Family Science Program.
