Innovation & Entrepreneurship at FACS

We help you translate your ideas into impact.

At FACS, we see innovation and entrepreneurship as co-creating and/or discovering novel solutions to address the needs of communities, families, people, and the planet. Our goal is to connect FACS faculty, staff, students, alumni and community to the resources they need to have a meaningful impact on well-being.

  1. Empathy & Need Definition

Gaining empathy involves starting with the human(s) in mind - seeing their world through their eyes. Defining the need means identifying how or where you feel you can improve well-being.

    FACS can help.

Submit a project for the Social Entrepreneurship course to find a student team to support your work

Connect with Cooperative Extension to see how your interests might align with a Georgia community

    OTHERS?

  2. Learning the Ropes

Innovation and entrepreneurship don't have to be done in a vacuum. There are plenty of people in the broader FACS community with expertise and experience that can help.

Tap into the FACS Innovation & Entrepreneurship Ecosystem to share ideas at any stage and gain feedback.

Request a mentor with specific expertise or experience to support your idea.

  3. Getting It Done

Ideas and actions don't just appear magically. They take time, money and other resources.

Request a FACS Innovation & Entrepreneurship Graduate Assistant and use the position to hire the student from any college/department with the skills your project needs.

Apply for the FACS Innovation & Entrepreneurship Seed Grant to explore new research approaches or explore innovative ideas.

  4. Going Big

If your goal is commercialization, the UGA Innovation District has many resources to support faculty, students and others.
