Our basic science research programs in maternal, infant and child nutrition focus on the mechanisms by which maternal diet in rodent models can regulate food intake and promote or prevent disease in the offspring. Results from our studies lead to opportunities for human intervention that may be linked to reduced risk for childhood obesity and related diseases.
