The Design Sprint Challenge
For the Summer of 2022, Cox Enterprises is partnering with the UGA Social Incubator to host a design sprint. The design sprint will allow each participating team to select one of three challenges and tasks them with the challenge of designing an innovative solution to address the challenge. Teams will present this outreach proposal to a team of judges for a chance to take home one of the cash prizes.
Your Opportunity
Practice (or acquire) human-centered design expertise
Gain experiential learning or course credit for graduation
Explore a topic of interest

Prizes awarded:
$1,500 for First Place Team
$750 for Second Place Team
$250 for Third Place Team
The Design Sprint
In a design sprint, a team designs a novel solution to a meaningful problem. Using methods of human-centered design, the team works to develop empathy, define a need, ideate, prototype and test. Ultimately the team communicates the need they discovered and their idea to address it through a compelling story. A sprint is a terrific opportunity to practice your human-centered design skills or to learn about the HCD process.
Your Task
Assemble a team of 2 to 4 students (or let us know that you would like help finding a team)
Apply to be part of the sprint
Have a least one member of your team participate in five virtual exercises via Zoom (one per week)
Complete your design
Present your design to the judges at our live, in-person event on August 15th
Claim your prize (if you win, of course)
