The Provost has expanded the Faculty Working Group and Yoo-Kyoung Seock is now the FACS representative. GAFCS Annual Conference

Registration is open for the 2022 Virtual Georgia Association of Family and Consumer Sciences (GAFCS) Annual Conference on Friday, March 4, 2022! This year’s conference theme is GAFCS: Sustaining our Future in FACS. Visit the conference link to register and for updates.

International Student Life Friday Coffee Hours

Join International Student Life for their Friday Coffee Hours. Coffee Hour is a weekly program that brings UGA students, faculty, staff, and community members together over coffee and international cuisine. This event occurs Fridays from 11:30am – 1:00 pm in the Memorial Hall Ballroom. Each Coffee Hour is hosted by UGA International Student Organizations and campus departments.

Alpha Alpha Alpha

Eligible faculty and staff are invited to be inducted into UGA’s chapter of Alpha Alpha Alpha (Tri-Alpha), a national honor society that recognizes the academic achievements of first-generation college students and to have the opportunity to engage with the University’s current first-generation students.

  

To qualify: 

  •  You must have earned at least a bachelor’s degree 
  • Neither of your parents (nor stepparents nor legal guardians) completed a bachelor’s degree prior to your completing one
  • You must be serving in Higher Education at the time of your induction

CTL’s Relentless Welcome Challenge

UGA Well-Being Initiative

As stated in the President’s State of the University Address, $1 million have been dedicated to a new series of initiatives and efforts to enhance student well-being. To learn more click here. Initiatives are still in development, so check back on the progress.

UGA Alumni Association 2022 40 Under 40

Nominations for the UGA Alumni Association’s 2022 40 Under 40 are officially open and will close April 8, 2022. Please nominate outstanding young FACS alumni in your networks. 40 Under 40 Nomination form: https://my.reviewr.com/s2/site//UGA-40under40-2022

2022 Eligibility and Selection Criteria:

  • Earned an undergraduate or graduate degree from UGA
  • Is under the age of 40 as of September 1, 2022
  • Is willing to submit a headshot, if selected, that can be published by units within the University
  • Aspires to uphold the principles manifested in the three Pillars of the Arch
  • Demonstrates commitment to maintaining a lifelong relationship with UGA
  • Has made an impact in their professional and philanthropic endeavors

Those who are nominated will have from April 11, 2022 – April 29, 2022 to complete their application. The application link will be sent to those who are nominated once their nomination application is complete. The awards celebration for 40 Under 40 2022 will be September 9, 2022 in Tate Grand Hall.

New Business Operations Lead – Caitlin Baerne

Please welcome Caitlin Baerne, who will be joining the BFO on March 1, 2022. She will be responsible for Foundation check request approvals, Foundation reporting, managing special funding, P-card administrator for the College, Petty Cash Liaison, Study Away Liaison and helping us to manage, track and report on various other unique funding in the College including eRate and Double Dawgs. Caitlin also will be cross-training to help support post-award management at the College level.

Caitlin comes to us from the College of Pharmacy Business Office. She has experience working with post-award grant management, foundation funding, P-card management, fiscal management and reporting. Caitlin has an undergraduate degree in Business Management and M.B.A.
