How to Apply

Requirements

Admission is competitive and is based on the following criteria:

  • Evaluation of transcripts – GPA of at least 3.0
  • Three letters of recommendation
  • Applicant's statement of goals, including research interests
  • Resume (summary of your educational background and relevant experience)
  • GRE scores are not required for admissions in TMI graduate programs due to our holistic standards of admissions.
  • A master's degree is required to apply for a Ph.D. 
  • International students - official TOEFL or IELTS scores. **Note: As of July 1, 2023, the Duolingo English Test will no longer be accepted as a test of English proficiency in graduate admissions. 

 Prospective students must submit their application materials through the UGA Graduate School application system for consideration.

Deadlines

Applications for admission and all supporting documents must be received in the Graduate School Office by the following deadlines:

Domestic applicants:
Fall semester: July 1
Spring semester: November 15

International applicants:
Fall semester: April 15 
Spring semester: October 15

**The deadline for full financial aid consideration (assistantships, fellowships and scholarships) is December 15.

**The review of applications for Fall 2025 matriculation will start after December 15th, 2024.

**The review of applications for Spring 2025 matriculation will start after August 15th, 2024.
