It’s difficult to find employment without transportation. IHDD and GCDD, together with Pineland CSB, have created a short film called "Three Gentlemen Who Need A Ride: Looking for Work in South Georgia" about these issues, focusing on three men in Statesboro who need both work and transportation. As part of IHDD’s Advancing Employment initiative, the short film, as well as visual resumes, were created for each gentleman. IHDD will continue to support Pineland CSB in expanding access to competitive integrated employment. Link here

Creator of "Advocates Reaching the Community"

  • AUCD

A network of interdisciplinary centers advancing policy and practice for and with individuals with developmental and other disabilities, their families, and communities.

  • GAO

GAO envisions a Georgia where all people have value, visibility and voice; where even the most difficult and long-lasting challenges are addressed by ordinary citizens acting voluntarily on behalf of each other; and where the perception of disability is replaced by the recognition of ability.

  • GCDD

The mission of GCDD is to advance social change, public policy, and innovative practices that increase opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities and their families to thrive where they live, learn, work, play, and worship in Georgia’s communities.

  • Georgia State Center for Leadership in Disability

The Center for Leadership in Disability (CLD) has been a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in the Mark Chaffin Center for Healthy Development and the School of Public Health at Georgia State since 2008. CLD translates research into sustainable community practices that contribute to independent, self-determined, inclusive and productive lives for people with disabilities and their families.

  • Georgia Advocacy Days

Advocacy Days 2021 with Georgia Council on Development and Disabilities.
