Each year, the College of Family and Consumer Sciences presents several awards to outstanding alumni, faculty, and friends. The various awards recognize the many contributions made to the college, the profession, and society.

  • Distinguished Alumni Award

    Rick Lewis (M.S., Foods and Nutrition, 1978)

    Served as Director of the Bone and Body Composition Laboratory at The University of Georgia for over three decades, retiring as UGA Foundation Professor emeritus.

  • Emily Quinn Pou Professional Achievement Award

    Clarissa Esguerra (M.S., Historic and Cultural Aspects of Dress and Textiles)

    Associate Curator of Costume and Textiles, Los Angeles County Museum of Art

  • Outstanding Service Award

    Theresa Napoli (BSFCS 2008, Child and Family Development)

    Principal of St. Joseph Catholic Parish School

  • Pacesetter Award

    Eliza Paris Harrison (BSFCS 2014)

    Worked in financial services at UBS Securities, LLC, in New York, successfully managing the relationships of many of the firm’s most important clients.

  • Creswell Award

    Jerry Gale

    Served as Clinical Director of the FACS Marriage and Family Therapy Doctoral Program for 18 years and was one of the founders of the UGA ASPIRE Clinic.

  • FACS Appreciation Award

    Extra Special People

    Based in Watkinsville, ESP is noted for serving children and young adults with developmental disabilities and their families through year-round thrive programs, family support and community development, and provides experiential learning opportunities for FACS students.
