Outreach Paraprofessional Award

Purpose

To recognize outstanding achievement of paraprofessionals in FACS outreach and extension programs.

Eligibility

Eligibility is limited to current FACS paraprofessionals who have been employed at least half‑time for a minimum of one year.

Past recipients of the award are not eligible for the subsequent three years.

Nominations

Each District of UGA Extension is eligible to nominate one person:

Northwest District
Northeast District
Southwest District
Southeast District

How to Nominate

Each district shall develop its own procedures for identifying qualified applicants. One nomination from each district will be accepted. Each district packet should include:

Nominee's current resume (no page limit).
One (1) internal letter of nomination detailing outstanding achievements in extension, outreach, and public service, highlighting significance relative to award criteria.
One (1) external letter of support from someone outside the district, selected based on the logic of the award.
Three to five examples of supporting materials (e.g., materials developed, success stories, newspaper articles, outcome reports). Limited to 8 pages.

Nominations may roll over for up to three (3) years. Districts must email facsdean@uga.edu each year by the deadline to confirm rollover status. Letters of support do not need to be updated annually.

The recipient will be recognized at the annual Celebrating Excellence Awards Luncheon and shall receive a plaque.

Criteria

Superior quality and innovative approaches to program delivery with maximum benefit to audience, community, and stakeholders.
Commitment to program quality and enhancement of the reputation of the program and area served.
Effective communication of program results and impact.
Evidence of support through partnerships and visibility of program reach and effectiveness.
