- Why I chose my major
After studying abroad with Dr. Jamie Cooper and several dietetics majors on a three-week nutritional tour of the British Isles the summer after my freshman year, I knew I needed to change my major to dietetics. My major allowed me to not only understand the science of nutrition, but how to share nutrition with others in all different settings through nutrition presentations, cooking demonstrations and nutrition counseling. I ultimately hope to share the knowledge that bridges the gap between fitness and nutrition (my major and minor), allowing others to be able to make independent, healthy choices.
- What I like most about FACS
I am so thankful for the support of the faculty and staff in FACS. I’m grateful for Drs. Cara Simmons, Jamie Cooper, Caree Cotwright, Tracey Brigman, Sarah Henes and Emma Laing, who, whether they know it or not, all had such an impact on my undergraduate career. My knowledge about and passion for nutrition has grown tremendously in my four years at UGA, and it’s because of the amazing professors in FACS.
- Post-graduation plans
I will be continuing my education at the University of Georgia through the combined MS/Dietetic Internship program!
