Why did you choose your major?

I chose HDFS as my major because I love learning about development within people, relationships, and how those can influence the individual throughout different life stages.

Why did you want to become an Ambassador?

I wanted to become an ambassador so that I could promote the many aspects of the college that I love to interested students.

What do you like the most about FACS?

My favorite part about FACS is the endless opportunities it presents. Through the versatile major options, students have so many choices in what they choose to learn and can get connected with professionals who can guide them in the right direction. FACS is so personal and I love the many connections that students can make with professors, alumni, etc.

What advice would you give to new students?

I would tell new students to say “yes” to trying new things in regards to their education! Go to the career fair, make connections with your professors, and attend events to learn more about how you can expand your learning. All of this will make sure you get the most out of your time at UGA!

What has been your favorite part of your FACS program so far?

My favorite part of my FACS program so far has been the service-learning opportunity I had in one of my HDFS courses. I was able to interact with young adults outside of the UGA community and serve as a mentor for them. This was an incredible experience because I got to use what we were learning in class and apply it to real-life situations!

What is your favorite spot to study on campus?

My favorite spot to study on campus is the MLC because I love the quiet study rooms with dry-erase boards that are available. I’m a visual learner, so drawing things out on the boards is super beneficial!

What is one thing you wish more people knew about FACS?

One thing I wish more people knew about FACS is how versatile it is! You can find a class/major for almost any interest in this college and it serves as a great foundation for being a professional in any setting.
