What is your fondest memory of your time spent in the college?

My favorite memory in FACS is participating in the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) Program. The VITA program is a hands-on program prepares tax returns for low income community members. What I enjoyed even more than preparing the returns was the experiences and stories I heard from various community members. It made me appreciate the community of Athens even more.

How did FACS prepare you for your career?

FACS gave me the hands-on experience I needed to succeed in my career. With the ASPIRE Clinic and the VITA program, I came out of school with lots of experience that employers loved. Add internships on top of that, and FACS gave me all the tools I needed to succeed.

Why do you give to FACS/UGA?

I want to help ensure current and future students are able to have access to even more resources than I did when in school.

What is the best advice you can share with current FACS students?

Follow your passion and don’t worry about the money. Working in a field you are passionate about will make your future working days much more enjoyable.
