Why I chose my major

After taking my first TMI class with Dr. McAndrews, Apparel Studio Design, my freshman year as an elective course, I quickly bombarded the TMI advisor, Anne Allen, with questions on how to add Fashion Merchandising as a double major. As a freshman, I came into college wanting to obtain a degree in marketing and have a minor in fashion because that was the “practical” thing to do. Continuing down my collegiate journey, I realized while fashion has always been an interest of mine, it was what I was truly passionate about and ended up switching my major and my minor around. The industry knowledge and leadership opportunities within the FM program have led to an internship with fab’rik corporate in West Midtown, Atlanta, and almost landed me an internship with Victoria’s Secret PINK as a beauty buying intern in New York City, but sadly that opportunity was canceled due to COVID-19. I am incredibly grateful for the faculty and fellow students I have met through FM and am 100% satisfied in my decision to make FACS my home!

What I like most about FACS

What I love most about FACS is it's like a family! Since it's such a small and intimate college, all of the faculty and staff know my name, took the time to ask me personal questions, and showed a vested interest in my success. This made me feel valued as a student and I am forever grateful for their support and guidance over these past four years.

Post-graduation plans

I plan to pursue a career in the fashion industry as a buyer.
