- Why I chose my major
After being accepted into the MAcc program, I was offered the opportunity to apply for UGA’s first dual MAcc/Masters of Financial Planning program. At first I was hesitant and was honestly unsure if financial planning was something I would excel at. After some encouragement from my parents, I decided to take a leap of faith and apply; I am so thankful that my parents saw that potential within me. Financial planning has unlocked creativity and skills that I didn’t know I had.
- What I like most about FACS
From August 2018 until May 2021, I was an undergraduate and graduate student in the J.M. Tull School of Accounting. Because I had grown to love Tull so much, I was nervous starting in another college because I was not familiar with any faculty or students in FACS. However, the faculty and students here in FACS have been extremely kind and encouraging. The faculty here seek to empower and educate students so that we may go out into our careers and do the same.
- Post-graduation plans
I have accepted an assistant financial planner position with Elwood & Goetz at their Athens office. I can’t wait to begin my financial planning career and to celebrate finally being a Triple Dawg!
