Why I chose my major

I knew I wanted to enter a career path and study something that I was truly passionate about, and fashion merchandising is an area that really encapsulates all of my interests and strengths. I chose a brand management emphasis and a business minor because I was drawn to the business aspect of fashion to understand the whys and the hows of the retail industry. I knew this emphasis could translate across many roles and experiences, and this major has allowed me to utilize both my creative and analytical mindset.

What I like most about FACS

I love FACS because this college has felt like a family where I’ve grown with these people over
the last four years. I love how close-knit the classes are because students and professors get to know each and every person. FACS builds an environment where I feel comfortable asking questions, giving my input, getting to know my peers or going to a professor for advice. I’ve made lifelong friendships among classroom peers and gained meaningful relationships with professors each semester. This college is all about community and everyone here reflects these values.

Post-graduation plans

I’ve been given the opportunity to join Belk at their corporate offices for the merchandising retail development program.
