Why I chose my major

I chose financial planning because I love numbers and people. The College of Family and Consumer Sciences and the FHCE department allowed me to work with both. After taking Personal Finance with Dr. Archuleta, I fell in love with the FACS family, as I refer to everyone in Dawson Hall. Most of my courses had a smaller class size and I was able to make lasting relationships with my classmates. Through the support of the FACS family, I was able to get into the Double Dawgs program. Financial planning helps me manage my finances and allows me to guide others in order to help them find financial comfort.

What I like most about FACS

All of the faculty, staff and students are very welcoming and supportive. The  FACS family has played a vital role in shaping my education and career path. I have received constant support and encouragement from the faculty members. Dawson Hall feels like home and people around you feel like your family. I am delighted to be part of something so exceptional on campus.

Post-graduation plans

I will be interning over the summer in Franklin, Tenn., working with a financial planning firm and the firm’s internal finance podcast, The Money Guy Show.
