M.S., Dietetics, 2023
- Current occupation/location
Program Director at Small Bites Adventure Club, Atlanta
- What do you love about your current role?
I love my job because I am helping kids discover how fun cooking can be! Every day is different and I get to learn from some amazing, passionate people.
- How did your time at FACS help prepare you for your life or career?:
FACS prepared me to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment. I left my undergraduate and graduate degrees confident in not only dietetics but also how to work in a team, be a leader, and most importantly how to be a lifelong learner.
- What advice would you give current students who aspire to a similar career?
My advice is the same I got before starting my freshman year at UGA: when in doubt, join everything. I met my best friend by joining First-Year Forum. I got my first job in college by attending a Student Dietetics Association meeting, and I learned about my current role by joining the FACS alumni Facebook page (and got it by having a FACS professor's recommendation!) You never know what you'll learn, so join!
- What does being a FACS grad mean to you?
Being a FACS grad means being part of a family! I have yet to attend a conference, meeting, or event where I have not met a FACS graduate. Knowing when I walk into a room that there's likely another FACS graduate there has helped me feel confident in professional environments and build relationships.
