Why I chose my major

I enjoy connecting with, encouraging and empowering others, and the theories and content taught in HDFS courses have equipped me to understand the complex needs of individuals and families in my community in order to best serve them.

What I like most about FACS

The material taught in FACS is directly applicable to daily life. Each day of class, I have learned content that is relevant to my own life or that I have been able to reference professionally through internships and employment opportunities.

Post-graduation plans

I would like to work with a local agency or organization that engages in direct service to community members who are in need of resources or support. I am especially drawn to working with young families and/or young mothers, and I am excited to use all that I have learned as a FACS major in my professional career.
