- Why I chose my major
I came into UGA thinking I wanted to be an engineer, and quickly discovered it was not the career for me. I had little to no idea what I wanted to do and took HDFS 2100 with Dr. George over the summer as it was one of the few classes with an open seat that sounded interesting. A short two weeks into the course, I changed my major to HDFS not only because I found the course interesting, but because I saw the wide potential the major had in the workforce including education, research, counseling and more. Choosing HDFS was easily the best decision I made in my college career, and I am so thankful for that first summer course.
- What I like most about FACS
The faculty and students! I am continuously in awe of FACS faculty members and their accomplishments, as well as their desire to speak and work with students. I have never felt out of place in a FACS classroom. I always knew that I was surrounded by peers and professors who would support me not only in my studies but through my future career. I am endlessly grateful for the FACS advisors, professors and peers who made my experience at UGA so memorable.
- Post-graduation plans
After graduation I plan on attending graduate school for higher education administration. I hope to work in student affairs and aid other students in finding the connections and support similar to what I found in FACS.
