Why I chose my major

I feel invigorated by the multifaceted expansion of the nutrition field, which explores not only medical applications of nutrition, but also the social, emotional and mental impacts of dietary habits and consumption. It is apparent to me that nutrition is an underutilized and often overlooked tool in medicine, counseling and therapy. I chose dietetics as my major so I could gain the knowledge and skills needed to positively influence the health of others through the power of diet and well-being.

What I like most about FACS

I love that FACS is a small college where you can really get to know your professors and peers. I am so thankful to have had the opportunity to learn from such inspiring professionals who are truly invested in supporting their students.

Post-graduation plans

I will complete a dietetic internship through the Solmaz Institute at Lenoir Rhyne University in Asheville, N.C. and finish my master’s degree online through UGA’s Double Dawgs program. I also hope to continue my training and work as a professional performer and will continue to teach fitness and circus arts in Asheville.
