Why I chose my major

I chose to major in Human Development and Family Science because I wanted to spend the next four years learning all about individuals and families. After passing the Georgia Bar Exam, I plan to dedicate my life to being an advocate for vulnerable individuals and families who are not able to advocate for themselves. HDFS courses provided me with the knowledge and experience necessary to assist individuals and families with their desired resources and services.

What I like most about FACS

What I like the most about FACS would be the community and support from the administrators, advisors, professors and classmates. When I decided to transfer to the University of Georgia, I was worried that I was going to be left to fend for myself, but advisor Julie Patterson quickly proved me wrong. She welcomed me with open arms and dedicated our time together to ensure I was aware of and granted every opportunity that crossed her path. Due to her and professors like Dr. Melissa Kozak, I was able to have a successful transition to UGA and able to call Dawson Hall a home away from home.

Post-graduation plans

My post-graduation plans are to take a gap year to study for the LSAT while working at the Henry County District Attorney’s Office. During my time at the DA’s office, I hope to acquire the skills and knowledge necessary to make me a viable candidate for my dream law school.
