Why I chose my major

I chose Human Development and Family Science as my major as a pre-nursing student because I want to gain a deeper understanding of the people I will care for. I love that HDFS has such a strong people centered focus and teaches me to look at individuals as a whole, considering their development, families, and experiences. Knowing that what I learn in class will have a personal impact on my patients in the future is so motivating!

What I like most about FACS

I love how every FACS class I have taken connects what we learn to real-world experiences. The topics we study feel meaningful because they prepare us for situations we may face in our future careers and everyday lives. I appreciate gaining practical knowledge that I know I will continue to use long after college!
