New User Instructions

1. Do you have a UGA MyID?

Great! Continue on to step 2, Logging into the UGAMail portal.

Your UGA MyID is the sign-on name that students, faculty, and staff use to access online services at UGA, including UGAMail, eLC, MyUGA, and other services.

Each MyID requires a strong password and “security questions”.

Strong passwords must be:

  1. 8-16 characters long
  2. Contains at least one special character (!, $, #, %, <, etc....)
  3. May not contain spaces or your MyID

You must change this password at least once every 6 months (you will get reminder emails one month prior to expiration).

You will receive an email at the address you provided with a confirmation of your request. You will need to wait 15 to 30 minutes for the system to create your account and grant you access.

2. Log into the UGAMail portal

Before you can successfully set up desktop or laptop email for your UGA account you must first log into the UGA web mail portal. You can log in here.

3. Create Your Online Profile

Follow the directions at the directory.
