Bolivia Service-Learning: Nutrition and Health in Bolivia

A unique opportunity in this service-learning course is to provide the students with hands on experience working with dietitians, physicians, and to learn about the health care system of Bolivia, through hospital and clinic' rotations in Santa Cruz, Bolivia. This study abroad will immerse students in a different culture and challenge them to better understand their own backgrounds. The differences in foods, and culture, as well as family relations, will be examined through the lens of cross-cultural understanding. Students will live with a local family, an experience which is often the most rewarding part of the course.
