The trip allows students to familiarize themselves with the opportunities the fashion and the interior design business offers in New York City.

Informational sessions will be held on October 17 @ 12:00pm, October 20 @ 1:15pm, and October 31 @ 12:00pm in 308 Dawson Hall.

You Will

  • Visit corporate offices, showrooms, design studios, production facilities, forecasting businesses as well as retail crawls while discussing visual merchandising and store design
  • Develop professionally and conceptualize future career choices
  • Earn credits towards the Experiential Learning requirement at UGA
  • Gain a broader knowledge of where trends originate and why NYC is the American capital of fashion and design
  • Experience the culture, history and lifestyle of NYC
  • Tour art museums (MOMA, MET, Whitney, etc.)
  • Keep a thought-provoking daily journal of experiences in order to receive course credit
  • Go see a Broadway play with friends

Approximate Cost: $1,870.00 for Fashion Merchandising and $1,650.00 for Furnishings and Interiors (the program fee covers airfare, transfers from/to NY airport, lodging with breakfasts, tours, metro card, and a broadway show ticket; it does NOT include tuition or any fees associated with tuition)
