Our basic science research programs in obesity are multidisciplinary and involve studies at the cellular level with regard to mechanisms of uptake and utilization of nutrients by adipose cells. Studies in this area also focus on maternal and offspring appetite regulation in rodent models.
Many of our faculty and students are members of UGA's Obesity Initiative.
