The FACS Alumni Association has awarded scholarships in the amount of $1,000 each to three deserving recipients for the 2019-20 school year. For many years, the Alumni Association has funded two scholarships: the FACS Alumni 4-H Scholarship and the FACS Alumni Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA) Scholarship.
This year, the Alumni Association was able to provide additional support to fund a third award, the FACS Alumni Association Scholarship Scholarship. Read More
Opeyemi "Yemi" Adelugba
"I am appreciative of the FACS Alumni Scholarship. I am happy to see alumni passionate to giving back to current students in FACS. I remember switching to FACS and wanting to be more than a number. This scholarship allows me to feel as a person of importance, a person who can leave an impact. I am forever grateful for the opportunity to continue my college endeavors."
Sage Royston
"I always have wanted to go to school forever. I love learning. But learning and earning a degree are privileges. It can be easy to get lost in the day to day stresses of homework and tests and work, but in the end, I am forever grateful for the opportunities I have at UGA. This scholarship means that I am able to continue investing, growing, and learning. I am able to pursue the privilege of education. I am incredibly humbled and grateful to have had received this scholarship and am dedicated to putting it to putting good back into the world through growth and gratitude."
Kristen Hankins
"I am absolutely honored to have received this scholarship. Not only has it helped me afford books, but I have also met many incredible Alumni and FACS College members through it. I have truly felt support from the college and it has really helped me feel at home here at UGA."

Fashion merchandising students compete for top T-shirt design.
Students in Dr. Laura McAndrews' Digital Apparel Design and Development Applications class will use their graphic design skills to create a T-shirt that encompasses the true essence of FACS. Students will create their original graphic designs in the newly gifted software Lectra Kaledo.
"What makes this project so impactful is how it mimics the apparel industry," said Dr. Laura McAndrews. "Students are so lucky to use the Lectra design software with the hopes of getting their original graphic design printed on t-shirts and worn by their peers! I am so excited for them!"
The winning design will be chosen by a vote from FACS students, faculty, staff and alumni during FACS Week in October and will be made available for purchase later this fall.
Over the next few weeks, students will interview faculty or other students from each of the four departments to gain a full understanding of the college and then incorporate their findings into the graphic design. Students will then begin capturing their design process using social media to market and encourage their peers and the FACS community to vote.
